Officers are elected by vote at the AGM and remain in the post for a 12 month period. Presidents are elected by Past Presidents from a pool of Vice Presidents.

Purpose of the role To provide leadership to the Institute and ensure that all Officer roles are filled and the functions managed effectively.To chair monthly meetings of the Council.To attract new members to the Council in order to ensure long term succession.

Purpose of the role To support the President and deputise where required.To plan events for the following year.To promote the Institute and encourage activity amongst Young Members.

Role Secretary & Membership

Purpose of the role To act as liaison between the local Institute and the national body.To summon council meetings and to keep minutes of them.

Role Treasurer

Purpose of the role To keep an account of the receipts and payments of the Institute and of its property, assets and liabilities. To submit a regular financial statement to the Council.

Role Education Secretary

Purpose of the role To organise CII exams locally twice per annum.To co-ordinate the educational work of the Institute.

Role Sports & Social Representatives

Purpose of the role To work across the boundaries to understand and promote the interests of members/potential members through sports and social events.

Role Programme Secretary

Purpose of the role To arrange a lecture programme designed to address current issues and to develop the professional knowledge of the membership.

Role Dinner Secretary

Purpose of the role To arrange the annual dinner.

Role Insurance Benevolent Fund Local Representative

Purpose of the role To organise fund raising events in conjunction with the President.To maintain a visiting programme to beneficiaries and applicants.

Purpose of the role To audit the Institute’s accounts.
